• Adopts a fixed-length design where the lens barrel does not extend during zooming. This minimizes changes in the camera's center of gravity, allowing for stable framing during shooting.

• Covers a focal length of approximately 22.4mm to 48mm (35mm film equivalent). As a kit lens for the EOS R50 V, primarily intended for video shooting, the wide-angle focal length has been expanded compared to conventional kit lenses. This enables video expression with a wide field of view and emphasized perspective, covering a wide range of scenes from live streaming to video production with a single lens.
• Equipped with a lead-screw type STM, it achieves high-speed and high-precision AF by matching actuator control via a microprocessor with the camera's AF algorithm.
• Supports close-up shooting with a minimum focusing distance of 0.15m and a maximum magnification of 0.38x (at 30mm). This allows for shooting small subjects like table photos or getting close to subjects to capture details. It is suitable for video shooting such as product reviews where the product is brought close to the camera.
• Coordinated control is possible when combined with cameras equipped with Movie Digital IS.
• Achieves an image stabilization effect of 5.0 stops according to CIPA 2024 standards with Optical IS. When attached to EOS R series cameras with in-body IS, coordinated control with Optical IS delivers even higher IS effects of 7.5 stops in the center and 5.5 stops in the periphery ※2.
