• To fully leverage the wide 60-600mm zoom range, optical performance has been pursued across the entire zoom range. The latest optical design, featuring an effective arrangement of various glass materials including FLD and SLD glass, effectively corrects chromatic aberration that tends to occur in the super-telephoto range.
• The newly developed linear motor "HLA (High-response Linear Actuator)" is used for the actuator. High-output linear motor and advanced electronic control achieve unprecedentedly fast, high-precision, and quiet AF. It also offers high focus tracking performance for fast-moving sports, vehicles, birds, and more, ensuring you never miss a decisive moment.
• The newly developed algorithm "OS2" is adopted for the image stabilization OS (Optical Stabilizer) mechanism. This achieves a significant improvement in image stabilization performance, with 7 stops of correction at the wide end and 6 stops at the telephoto end, allowing you to express breathtaking moments with rich dynamism.
• A "multi-material structure" is employed, with materials such as magnesium, CFRP, and TSC optimally placed in various locations while considering their respective characteristics. The lens barrel, which combines weight reduction with inherited robustness, offers high adaptability in various scenes and applications.
• Supports "Dual Action Zoom," allowing both rotational zoom using the zoom ring and linear zoom by gripping the tip of the lens. You can switch between the delicate operation of rotational zoom and the quick operation of linear zoom.
• A dust- and moisture-resistant structure is adopted for the mount connection, manual ring, zoom ring, operation switches such as the custom switch, and the joints of the switch panel and exterior. The front of the lens features a water-repellent, oil-repellent coating, making maintenance easy when water droplets or dust adhere.
• Equipped with a focus limiter switch. This limits the AF drive range as needed, enabling faster focusing. There are three AFL buttons that can be assigned arbitrary settings from the camera body, making operation easy regardless of how you hold the camera or your setup.
• The lens body incorporates an Arca-Swiss compatible magnesium alloy tripod collar. The leg part is detachable, allowing for replacement with optional interchangeable tripod legs or attachment to a monopod according to your needs.
