• Equipped with the newly developed "X-Trans CMOS 5 HS" sensor, the signal readout speed is approximately 4 times faster than current models. This enables blackout-free continuous shooting at 40 frames/sec. Furthermore, during continuous shooting, by independently controlling the phase detection pixels when displaying live view images, the number of phase detection calculations is approximately 3 times that of current models.
• In addition to "X-Trans CMOS 5 HS" and "X-Processor 5", it is equipped with a large-capacity buffer memory, significantly increasing the number of continuous shots during burst shooting. When using the electronic shutter, it can record over 1000 photos with high-speed continuous shooting of 30 frames/sec for JPEG images and 20 frames/sec for RAW files.
• Features a high magnification, high-resolution EVF with a magnification ratio of 0.8x and 5.76 million dots. It suppresses image drift and distortion caused by eye position shift when using the viewfinder, achieving high visibility. This allows for accurate capture of fast-moving subjects.
• The adoption of "X-Trans CMOS 5 HS" and "X-Processor 5", along with a revamped AF prediction algorithm, has significantly improved subject tracking performance, zone AF, and AF accuracy in low-contrast environments.
• In addition to the conventional face/eye AF, it is equipped with subject detection AF developed using deep learning technology. By automatically tracking the intended subject while maintaining focus, you can concentrate on capturing the moment and composition.
• The AF+MF function, which allows for manual fine-tuning of focus after AF operation, is applicable not only to still photography but also to video recording.
• Supports video recording in 6.2K/30P and 4K/120P 4:2:2 10-bit. This allows for high-resolution video recording while retaining rich color information. Furthermore, 4K/120P high-speed video shooting is realized, enabling playback of fast-moving subjects' momentary actions in high-definition, smooth slow-motion video.
• The sensor readout speed during video recording has been increased up to 1/180 sec. By suppressing rolling shutter distortion, it renders moving subjects naturally.
• Newly supports three Apple ProRes codecs: ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, and ProRes 422 LT. Additionally, proxy shooting, such as ProRes 422 Proxy, is possible during ProRes recording.
• Newly equipped with "F-Log2", which expands the dynamic range to 14+ stops.
• A new heat dissipation structure has been adopted, significantly increasing the recording time for video shooting. 4K/60P video can be recorded for 240 minutes, meeting the needs of professional video production. By attaching the optional cooling fan "FAN-001", long-duration shooting is possible even in high-temperature environments.
• Features a newly developed in-body image stabilization mechanism. Through new sensor control functions and other technologies, it detects and corrects even finer vibrations, providing 5-axis, up to 7.0 stops of stabilization performance.
• An independent video recording button is provided. Additionally, a vari-angle 1.62 million dot rear LCD monitor that can be adjusted to various angles allows for intended video shooting.
• Features dual slots compatible with CFexpress Type B cards and SD cards.
