• Features a new system that allows operation of both power zoom and manual zoom with a single zoom ring. It also employs variable-speed zoom based on the rotation angle of the zoom ring, allowing for 15 levels of adjustment for both the lower limit of slow speed and the upper limit of high speed.
• Power zoom enables remote zoom operation via an app or remote controller without touching the lens. This allows for adjusting the angle of view for shooting with the camera set up on a tripod at a distance where direct operation is not possible, or for multi-camera shooting. The internal zooming design also suppresses changes in the center of gravity during zooming when attached to a gimbal.
• Covers a wide range from 20mm wide-angle to 50mm standard with a single lens, enabling dynamic visual expression that emphasizes wide angles and perspective, as well as natural standard angle expression close to the human field of view.
• The internal zooming design, where the lens length does not change during zooming, suppresses changes in the center of gravity. Furthermore, the constant F4 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range contributes to stable visual expression without changes in brightness.
• Leverages the advantages of a large-diameter mount and short back focus in its lens configuration, combined with optical design that assumes distortion aberration correction by in-camera image processing, achieving both built-in power zoom and a compact, lightweight design.
• Supports close-up shooting with a minimum focusing distance of 0.24m and a maximum magnification of 0.33x (at 50mm). This enables expressive close-up shots that capture the details of small subjects, from emphasizing perspective at wide angles to natural perspective for table photography at standard angles.
• Equipped with two high-performance Nano USM motors for zoom and one for focus, totaling three. By electronically controlling the position of these three optical units, it achieves stable focus holding and high-speed, high-precision AF tracking.
• The compact and lightweight design, with a total length of approximately 98.4mm and a weight of about 420g, is considerate for long handheld shooting sessions. When combined with the "EOS R6 Mark II," it supports highly mobile and active video shooting.
• Features a dust- and moisture-resistant construction to prevent ingress of water droplets and dust, along with a fluorine coating.
