• Equipped with the newly developed "X-Trans CMOS 5 HS" sensor, the signal readout speed is approximately 4 times faster than previous models. This enables blackout-free continuous shooting at 40 frames per second. Furthermore, during continuous shooting, by independently controlling the phase detection pixels when displaying live view images, the number of phase detection calculations is approximately 3 times that of current models.
• In addition to "X-Trans CMOS 5 HS" and "X-Processor 5", it is equipped with a large-capacity buffer memory, significantly increasing the number of continuous shots during burst shooting. When using the electronic shutter, it can record over 1000 photos at high speeds of 30 frames per second for JPEG images and 20 frames per second for RAW files.
• Features a high-magnification, high-resolution EVF with a 0.8x viewfinder magnification and 5.76 million dots. It suppresses image drift and distortion caused by eye position misalignment when using the viewfinder, achieving high visibility. This allows for accurate tracking of fast-moving subjects.
• The adoption of "X-Trans CMOS 5 HS" and "X-Processor 5", along with a revamped AF prediction algorithm, has significantly improved subject tracking performance, Zone AF, and AF accuracy in low-contrast environments.
• In addition to the conventional face and eye AF, it is equipped with subject detection AF developed using deep learning technology. This automatically tracks the intended subject while maintaining focus, allowing you to concentrate on capturing the moment and composition.
• The AF+MF function, which allows for manual focus adjustment after activating AF, is applicable not only to still photography but also to video recording.
• Supports video recording of 6.2K/30P and 4K/120P 4:2:2 10-bit. This allows for high-definition video recording while retaining rich color information. It also achieves high-speed 4K/120P video shooting, enabling smooth slow-motion playback of fleeting actions of fast-moving subjects.
• The sensor readout speed during video recording has been increased to 1/180 second. By suppressing rolling shutter distortion, it renders moving subjects naturally.
• Newly supports three Apple ProRes codecs: ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, and ProRes 422 LT. Furthermore, during ProRes shooting, proxy recording such as ProRes 422 Proxy is also possible.
• Newly equipped with "F-Log2", which expands the dynamic range to 14+ stops.
• Features a new heat dissipation structure, significantly increasing recording time for video shooting. It can record 4K/60P video for 240 minutes. This meets the needs of professional video production. By attaching the optional cooling fan "FAN-001", long-duration shooting is possible even in high-temperature environments.
• Equipped with a newly developed in-body image stabilization mechanism. Through new sensor control functions, it detects and corrects even finer vibrations, providing 5-axis, up to 7.0 stops of stabilization performance.
• Features a dedicated video recording button. Additionally, with a vari-angle 1.62 million dot rear LCD monitor that can be adjusted to various angles, it enables video shooting as intended.
• Equipped with dual slots that support both CFexpress Type B cards and SD cards.
