Product Features

  • Benefiting from its short flange back distance, this lens achieves high resolution regardless of shooting distance, from close-up to infinity. It vividly renders subjects in detail, even delicate textures like flower petals, with remarkable realism.
  • Incorporating one ED lens element suppresses axial chromatic aberration, minimizing color fringing at any shooting distance. One aspherical lens element balances spherical aberration and field curvature. With a bright maximum aperture of f/2.8, the characteristic bokeh of this micro lens is free from color bleeding or fringing, making the sharply captured subject stand out vibrantly.
  • One ED lens element is optimally positioned to effectively correct axial chromatic aberration from close-up to infinity. It particularly suppresses color fringing around the focal plane, which is noticeable in close-up shots, resulting in images with high perceived sharpness.
  • One aspherical lens element is optimally placed to effectively correct field curvature, achieving high resolution even in the peripheral areas of the image at any shooting distance. This allows for high image quality with your desired framing.
  • With an extremely short minimum focusing distance of 0.16m, you can get as close as approximately 5cm to the subject for true 1:1 macro photography. Even when approaching the subject closely, you can obtain sharp, in-focus images with autofocus.
  • The focal length is 50mm, suitable for a wide range of subjects. It can be used not only for macro photography but also for general snapshots, leveraging its focal length for versatile shooting. On DX-format cameras, it provides an angle of view equivalent to 75mm (35mm format equivalent), which is ideal for portraits.
  • The control ring supports comfortable still and movie shooting operations with customizable assignments (M/A, ISO sensitivity, aperture value, exposure compensation) and smooth operability. When set to 'M/A', you can achieve manual focus with no time lag by turning the control ring even during autofocus. This allows for quick focusing on the desired area while looking through the viewfinder.
  • During macro photography, the magnification display on the extended lens barrel allows you to check the shooting magnification and distance at a glance. By setting the focus mode to M and pre-setting the desired magnification on the control ring, you can easily adjust the shooting distance to achieve the intended magnification and focus precisely on your subject.
  • The lens barrel incorporates sealing in movable parts and other areas to prevent the intrusion of dust and moisture, ensuring dust-and-moisture resistance.
