• Features the “Real Resolution System” ultra-resolution technology, which synthesizes four images taken by minutely shifting the image sensor unit one pixel at a time into a single image.
• Equipped with the “Low-pass Selector” function, which achieves a moiré reduction effect similar to an optical low-pass filter by minutely driving the image sensor unit in sub-pixel units during exposure.
• Features the newly developed phase-detection AF system “SAFOX 13” for high-precision AF. Among the 101 focus points, 25 central points use cross-type sensors, and the low-light limit for AF is down to -4EV. During operation, the newly added focus point lever allows for more intuitive selection of focus points (up to 41 points).
• The combination of a high-definition new RGBIr metering sensor and the latest image processing engine “PRIME V” enables real-time subject detection (faces, eyes) and motion analysis using image recognition technology during viewfinder shooting, allowing for optimal exposure control and subject tracking during autofocus.
• High-speed continuous shooting of up to approximately 12 frames/sec in AF.S and up to approximately 11 frames/sec in AF.C is realized through high-speed, high-precision control of the mirror and shutter units by a newly developed mirror drive system, and high-speed data transfer by “PRIME V.”
• Lightweight yet robust magnesium alloy is used for the front, rear, top, and bottom exterior of the main unit. Features a dust- and moisture-resistant structure with sealing in various parts, and cold-weather resistance guaranteed for operation down to -10°C.
• Equipped with stereo microphone and headphone terminals for external input, allowing manual setting of audio recording levels and monitoring of microphone input sound pressure, with a wind noise reduction function.
• Features wireless connectivity for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Using the dedicated app “Image Sync,” users can perform live view display, shooting, and various settings from their smartphone, and easily transfer captured images to their smartphone for uploading to social media.
