Product Features

  • The biggest feature is the extremely large bokeh created by its effective aperture. The natural perspective unique to 135mm and overwhelming bokeh volume make the subject stand out, enabling three-dimensional portraits that can only be rendered with this lens.
  • Thorough correction of chromatic aberration, which tends to occur with telephoto lenses, achieves clear bokeh without color bleeding. Furthermore, the design suppresses vignetting, creating natural bokeh close to circular even in the periphery, allowing for shooting that takes advantage of the wide-open aperture.
  • 13 aperture blades to maintain circular bokeh, and pursuit of high processing accuracy for aspherical lenses. Beautiful and natural bokeh is condensed with Sigma's high design technology, cultivated through many years of developing F1.4 prime lenses, and the processing technology of the Aizu factory.
  • In addition to four large-diameter FLD glass elements, elements with high anomalous dispersion properties are effectively arranged to thoroughly correct axial chromatic aberration, which is noticeable in large-diameter telephoto lenses. It clearly depicts the subject's details from wide-open aperture, allowing you to actively utilize the extremely shallow depth of field unique to 135mm F1.4.
  • By adopting a floating focus mechanism that moves two focus lens groups independently, high resolution performance is maintained throughout the entire focus range.
  • Flare and ghosting are significantly suppressed by cutting-edge simulation technology and Super Multi-Layer Coating. High backlight resistance ensures clear and transparent rendering under any lighting conditions.
  • Dual HLA is adopted, driving each of the two focus groups with linear motors HLA (High-response Linear Actuator). By appropriately arranging two types of HLA optimized according to the movement amount of the focus group, high-speed and high-precision AF is achieved while ensuring the high thrust required for large-diameter telephoto lenses.
  • Equipped with AFL buttons in two locations that can be assigned any function. In addition to the aperture ring, it also features an aperture ring lock switch and a click switch that can toggle the click ON/OFF.
  • The dust- and moisture-resistant body, along with a water-repellent and oil-repellent coating on the frontmost lens element, allows for worry-free shooting even in harsh outdoor environments.
  • To balance robustness and weight reduction, metal parts such as aluminum and magnesium alloy are used in appropriate places, along with engineering plastics like TSC. It boasts the high rigidity, durability, and build quality of Art line specifications.
  • Includes an Arca-Swiss compatible, lightweight, and highly rigid magnesium alloy tripod mount. It provides excellent stability for tripod use in studios and during long shooting sessions, supporting a shooting environment where you can concentrate on expression. The tripod mount can also be removed and replaced with the included protective cover.
  • Includes a dedicated hood with a button-type lock mechanism for reliable and stable attachment and detachment. The hood is made of CFRP, which contains carbon fiber in polycarbonate, achieving both lightness and high durability.
