Product Features

  • Employs 6 FLD glass elements, 2 SLD glass elements, and 5 aspherical lens elements to thoroughly suppress various aberrations across the entire zoom range. Specifically, suppression of sagittal coma flare achieves stable, high resolving power even at the edges of the frame.
  • Achieves both excellent optical performance with good aberration correction and a compact optical system by employing 5 high-precision aspherical lens elements.
  • Offers high close-up shooting capability with a minimum focusing distance of 17cm at the wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7. Ideal for compositions that get close to the subject or for shooting in tight spaces where distance to the subject cannot be achieved.
  • Achieves extreme suppression of flare and ghosting through the application of Nano Porous Coating and Super Multi-Layer Coating. High resistance to backlight allows for clear and transparent shooting under any lighting conditions.
  • Designed with consideration for suppressing focus breathing. Minimal change in angle of view due to focus shift across the entire zoom range allows for natural expression of focus transitions in video shooting.
  • While the number of lens elements remains the same as the previous model, the overall length has been shortened through an evolved optical design. Furthermore, by thoroughly eliminating waste in the mechanical design, a highly portable lens body has been realized.
  • While focusing on making the lens body smaller and lighter, the use of metal parts for the zoom extension and a robust internal structure ensure a sense of rigidity during use, such as when operating rings, pressing buttons, or carrying the lens.
  • Equipped with an aperture ring. Features an aperture ring click switch and an aperture ring lock switch, allowing for aperture control tailored to shooting needs.
  • Equipped with AFL buttons, to which functions can be assigned, in 2 locations, one more than the previous model. In addition to the side, placement at the top also facilitates button operation when shooting in portrait orientation.
  • Employs a linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) for the AF actuator. The high-output HLA achieves a maximum drive speed more than 3 times faster than the previous model, providing comfortable AF shooting.
  • In addition to a dust- and moisture-resistant body, the front element of the lens features a water-repellent and oil-repellent coating, allowing for worry-free shooting even in harsh outdoor environments.
  • Equipped with a zoom lock switch that locks at the wide end to prevent unintentional zoom extension due to gravity. The lock can be released not only by the switch but also by zoom operation, allowing for flexible response to sudden shooting opportunities.
  • Includes a petal-shaped hood with a locking mechanism for secure attachment.
