• Achieves high-speed AF by moving two focusing groups in opposite directions, reducing the focus lens travel by approximately half. Furthermore, the adoption of high-thrust HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) linear motors for each focusing group enables fast AF.
• Equipped with the latest OS2 image stabilization algorithm, providing an exceptionally high stabilization effect of 7.5 stops on the wide end and 5.5 stops on the telephoto end. Features two modes: Mode 1 for general photography and Mode 2 optimized for panning shots, such as in motorsports.
• Designed to suppress focus breathing. Minimal change in angle of view due to focus shift allows for natural focus pulling in video recording.
• Flare and ghosting, which can degrade image quality, are combatted with state-of-the-art simulation technology, addressing incident light under all conditions. High resistance to backlight enables clear, unobstructed shooting in any lighting condition.
• Through the latest optical and mechanical design, the lens elements and internal structure have been rationalized, resulting in significant size and weight reduction compared to previous models. Despite enhanced mobility, it boasts SIGMA's renowned high build quality, including high durability, reliable rigidity, and meticulously crafted operation rings and switches.
• Features an inner zoom mechanism. The overall length does not change during zooming, making it easy to handle during handheld shooting and stable when mounted on a gimbal. It also prevents dust and water droplets from entering.
• Dust and moisture resistant construction is adopted for the mount connection, manual ring, zoom ring, operation switches such as custom switches, switch panels, and exterior joints.
• Equipped with an aperture ring. Includes an aperture ring click switch and an aperture ring lock switch, allowing for aperture control tailored to shooting needs.
• Built-in Arca-Swiss compatible magnesium alloy tripod socket. The detachable tripod foot has been newly designed for further size and weight reduction.
• Features a focus limiter switch. This allows you to restrict the AF focus drive range as needed, enabling faster focusing.
• Compatible with L-Mount Tele Converters TC-1411 (1.4x) and TC-2011 (2.0x).
• Includes a dedicated petal-type lens hood made of lightweight and high-strength CFRP.
