• Equipped with an AI processing unit. AI processing, including deep learning, enables high-precision subject recognition not only for humans based on detailed skeletal and posture information but also for non-human subjects such as animals, insects, and vehicles.
• Achieves high resolution performance through efficient noise processing, inheriting the philosophy of the α7R series which pursues resolution. While maintaining full-frame angle of view, it secures approx. 21.0 megapixel resolution even when shooting in APS-C mode or cropping to APS-C angle of view after shooting. The number of phase-detection AF points remains unchanged in APS-C mode.
• Despite the high pixel count, Sony's image sensor technology, including the high sensitivity characteristics of the back-illuminated structure, gapless on-chip lens structure, and AR coating (anti-reflective coating) on the sealing glass, has been integrated. Combined with the newly developed BIONZ XR, it achieves high image quality with low noise and high resolution performance across a wide sensitivity range of ISO 100-32000 (expandable to ISO 50-102400).
• A highly accurate image stabilization unit, gyro sensor, and optimized algorithm detect and correct shake. The image stabilization effect achieves the highest in α history: up to 8.5 stops at the center and 7.0 stops at the periphery with the body alone. Furthermore, the new algorithm enables highly accurate detection and correction of minute shake down to the pixel level, powerfully suppressing resolution degradation due to shake.
• 8K (7680×4320) 30p video recording is possible with the XAVC HS format. Achieves realistic and overwhelming resolution performance through 8.6K oversampling.
• Ergonomic grip design that is comfortable to hold and easy to operate even during long shooting sessions.
• Equipped with a 4-axis multi-angle LCD monitor. Combines the convenience of both a tilt-type and a side-opening vari-angle monitor, allowing for free angle adjustment to a comfortable viewing position in both horizontal and vertical orientations.
