• Newly developed 35mm full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor with approximately 33.0 megapixels, combined with the BIONZ XR image processing engine capable of processing speeds up to approximately 8 times faster than before, achieves a wide sensitivity range of ISO 100-51200 (expandable to ISO 50-204800 for stills, ISO 100-102400 for video) with high resolution.
• With 759 phase-detection AF points densely arranged across approximately 94% of the image area, the camera tracks subjects with higher speed and precision. High-speed continuous shooting at up to 10 frames/sec with AF/AE tracking captures fleeting moments. A large-capacity buffer memory supports continuous shooting of over 1000 compressed RAW or JPEG images.
• Real-time Eye AF, which detects subject's face and eye information with high accuracy using AI, now tracks the eyes of birds and animals in addition to humans, a first for the α series, for both stills and video.
• High-quality 4K60p recording with full pixel readout without pixel binning, and 4K 30p recording with full-frame 7K oversampling enable high-quality video shooting.

• Features Creative Look, allowing users to easily enjoy their preferred image creation by selecting from 10 preset looks. Supports HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) for natural tonal gradations with 4:2:2 10-bit recording, as well as intra-frame encoding (XAVC S-I) for more efficient editing and XAVC HS with twice the compression efficiency.
• Improved sound quality from the built-in microphone. High-quality video can be shot with attention to sound quality, including the Multi Interface Shoe (MI Shoe) compatible with digital audio interfaces.
• When combined with Sony E-mount lenses, unique functions such as AF Assist and Focus Map are available. For the first time in the α series, it features breathing compensation to suppress focus breathing, enabling high-quality shooting while maintaining the intended angle of view.

• USB streaming function has been enhanced. In addition to high-quality 4K video output, optimal settings can be selected according to usage, such as output resolution selection and simultaneous internal recording.
• Supports UVC (USB Video Class) / UAC (USB Audio Class). By simply connecting the camera to a general PC or smartphone via USB without preparing dedicated software, it can be easily used as a high-quality webcam.
• The new "Shot Mark" function allows you to add marks to recorded videos for easy access to marked scenes during playback on the camera or in Sony's Catalyst software, enabling efficient review and editing.
