• In addition to a new optical design that effectively corrects spherical aberration, a new 11-blade circular aperture has been designed. By adjusting spherical aberration, it pursues a meltingly soft bokeh.
• Delivers high-speed, high-precision AF performance and the high rendering capabilities unique to G Master even when a teleconverter is attached.
• Significantly reduces internal reflections by employing Nano AR Coating and flocking on the inner surface of the lens barrel, suppressing flare and ghosting for clear, transparent rendering.
• Achieves an overwhelming weight reduction to 2895g by minimizing the number of lens elements at the front of the barrel in the new optical design and using lightweight yet highly rigid magnesium alloy parts for the barrel.
• Built-in optical image stabilization mechanism. In addition to MODE 2 for panning, it newly features MODE 3, which optimizes the image stabilization algorithm to enable stable framing during irregular and intense subject movement, such as in sports.
• Compatible with commercially available 40.5mm filters such as ND filters, and the separately sold drop-in circular polarizing filter (VF-DCPL1).
• Reliable for use in harsh shooting environments due to its dust and moisture resistant design and fluorine coating on the foremost lens element.
