Achieves a bright maximum aperture of F2 at a focal length of 35mm. Allows you to enjoy large, beautiful bokeh even at wide angles. Useful for situations where you want to suppress camera shake with fast shutter speeds or reduce noise with low ISO sensitivity.
Features a distinctive focal length, making it ideal for portrait photography. Without changing lenses, you can seamlessly and rhythmically continue shooting from semi-wide to telephoto angles with simple operation of the zoom ring, ensuring you never miss a shutter opportunity.
Features a state-of-the-art optical design with a balanced arrangement of four special LD (Low Dispersion) glass elements that suppress light dispersion and three GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements. Boasts excellent optical performance across the entire zoom range. Furthermore, it expresses beautiful, soft bokeh unique to its large aperture.
Employs the VXD (Voice coil eXtreme torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism for AF drive. Enables stress-free and comfortable focusing with high-level AF speed and accuracy.
Excellent focus tracking for moving subjects, allowing you to capture fleeting moments in portrait photography and more without missing them. Its quiet motor drive is also a key feature, making it ideal for still photography in quiet environments and for video shooting.
High convenience due to a moisture-resistant construction, fluorine coating, and a locking mechanism for the lens hood.
