• Thorough optical simulations have been conducted. Achieves soft, melting bokeh, a sense of three-dimensionality that makes the subject stand out, and uncompromising resolution performance from the center to the corners.
• The lens construction consists of 12 elements in 15 groups. Four special glass elements, LD (Low Dispersion) lenses, thoroughly suppress chromatic dispersion, effectively correcting axial chromatic aberration and magnification chromatic aberration.
• The BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) coating suppresses ghosting and flare, allowing for detailed rendering of subject details and clear, transparent images even in backlight.
• To perfect the rendering of circular bokeh, Tamron's first 12-blade circular aperture has been adopted. Particularly in the macro range from a maximum magnification of 1:1 to 1:4, care has been taken to ensure that bokeh remains perfectly circular when the aperture is wide open.
• The 12 blades enable the creation of crisp starbursts when stopped down. This allows for dramatic image creation in scenes with many light sources, such as factory night views and illuminations, without obscuring the subject.
• Despite being a mid-telephoto macro lens with an F2.8 maximum aperture, it achieves a length of 126.5mm. The size of maximum diameter φ79.2mm fits comfortably in the palm of the hand and is easy to hold, with a light weight of 630g (length and weight are for the Sony E-mount version).
• A new hood is adopted, equipped with a sliding window for easy filter operation. This allows for shooting while precisely controlling shooting conditions without disrupting the shooting rhythm.
• Compatible with TAMRON Lens Utility, Tamron's proprietary software developed to expand the possibilities of photo and video shooting.
